Rushing a sorority can be pretty nerve wracking and overwhelming. You’re basically going to a college-speed dating- beauty pageant- networking-interview. So what do you wear? One of the key rules about dressing for recruitment events is that you want to look appropriate for each event and look put together, and because most girls will over-dress you probably should too. There are typically four rounds of recruitment and each round gets dressier, I’m going to go through each round and give you some ideas on what you may want to wear so that you have more important things to worry about (like actually enjoying the experience, finding a right fit and making life long relationships)

Round 1: Open house

This round will be the most casual of all the rounds. But you have to remember that you’re dressing like you would if you were going on a date because people are going to be paying attention. So, wear what you’d wear on a casual date. A pair of jeans or a casual skirt or shorts work fine, just make sure you wear a nice top that makes you look put together and reflects your personal style. I would also suggest that you wear flats because this is the round where you will most likely be doing a lot of walking and standing around. Round 2: House tours

Dress for this like you would for a brunch date, a step up from the last round with the whole outfit wearing a cute romper or top. You can even add in accessories and have more fun with makeup here, throw on some wedges to look elegant. Round 3: Varies

This round depends on the sorority, but typically you step up your outfit to be dressier- not cocktail attire but maybe a nice dress with simple heels. Sometimes there will be a color code for the event- the only advice I would give here is to not go overboard! Round 4: Preference

Here’s the final and most serious round so SLAY. In general, choose classy instead of sexy, and keep the outfit put together as best you can.
