Seeing as it's the amazing National Cheeseburger Day (we're so glad this is a thing!) we figured why not recommend some of the best cheeseburger joints in some of the college towns we know you guys live. These are in no particular order and we're totally up for any comments and additions so let us know if we've missed any. Embrace that Freshman 15!
1. Crown & Anchor - Austin TX: University of Texas at Austin
The double bacon cheeseburger from this joint is a thing of legend. Obviously Austin is one of the best places on the planet for food anyway but this burger is something else. Melted cheese melt your heart, crispy bacon and char-grilled deliciousness. Yes! 2. Louis' Lunch in New Haven
When it opened in 1895 Louis' Lunch claimed to be the birthplace of the American hamburger sandwich and it's pretty tasty to say the least. [blockquote quote="I spent many a late college night here! Definitely #1" name="Marisa"] 3. Port of Call - New Orleans: Tulane University
Tulanians love Port of Call , New Orleans and it's consistantly been voted the best burger in the city and just looking at it we might have to agree.

4. Booches Billiard Hall - Columbia
Booches was our girl Jamie's spot at Mizzou when she studied at Columbia. It's not fancy but it's just plain awesome, there are no fries or fancy drinks, not even plates! Your burgers are served on a piece of wax paper and it's cash only!

5. Honest Abe's Burgers & Freedom - Lincoln: University of Nebraska
With speciality burger toppings like roasted grapes and an amazing choice of freedom fries or parmesan truffle fries you'll have a job choosing what to top your Honest Abe with! 6. Harry's Bar & Burger - Providence RI: Brown University
You'll be spoiled with two Harry's Bar & Burger joints in Providence, one on North Main St and one on Atwells Ave. They have happy hour events where burgers are half off, 68oz beer boots and super fresh ingredients so it all sounds and looks pretty amazing to us. Now just to get into Brown University...
7. The White Spot: University of Virginia.
You're ordering The Gus Burger and by eating this you pretty much have all of the food groups in one meal. That's a winner for us! Plus they'll pop a birthday candle in it if you ask them nicely. All of The Sink's burgers have seriously cool names as well as being insanely delicious. For The Love Of Garlic is exactly that - roasted garlic, crispy garlic chips, garlic aioli and garlic sautéed spinach is all included on top of your beasty burger! But obviously this day is all about the cheese so check this bad boy out... 10. The Burger Stand: Lawrence KS - University of Kansas
The Fire burger sounds all kinds of incredible to us, read: fresh avocado and habanero-cactus jam. Dreamy! The Smoke also sounds insane with Applewood smoked bacon, gouda cheese and chipotle-cocoa ketchup. But then again the 'Classic' burger also sounds like perfection to us with simple Vermont white cheddar and assorted greens. Come to mama! Check out the Lawrence Menu here. 11. Mr. Bartley's Burger Cottage: Cambridge MA - Harvard
