Mystery Future? It's OK!

I'm going to start this off by saying that it's totally OK to not know what you want to do when you finish college. This applies whether you're in Freshmen year or you're a Senior! Of course it's amazing to have a dream career or a goal but this is hopefully going to be a helpful post to reassure you if you're not sure where you're heading.

It's Always Them

There will always be people that fly straight out of college and into their dream job but you need to be happy for these people and not resentful. It's not because you've done badly, they've just done exceptionally well. It's totally OK, you'll get there.

What You Can Do

Intern, intern, intern. Network, network, network. You need to get out there if you're serious about getting your dream job. Meet lots of people and try and get to know everyone that could be useful to you. But, what if you don't know what your dream job is? Trial and error is the best way to find out what you do and don't want to do. For example, I thought that I wanted to work in fashion but I also knew that I liked writing so I had a lot of different jobs and internships helping stylists and writing at corporate firms. Luckily, I found my middle ground and social media advancements definitely helped!

Take Risks

Do know what you'd love to do but think it's impossible or too big? You need to go for it. The best time to do this is when you don't have a lot of responsibilities, no kids or college fees to save up for. Start that business or go travelling, you never know what will happen along the way!
