9 shows that aren't Stranger Things to binge over break

At this point of break, you're probably bored out of your mind. Your usual go-to shows just aren't catching your attention and well... let's be real, you can only watch Stranger Things so many times. Take a deep breath, you can always go back and watch more Stranger Things if you want BUT why not discover something new? Below are 9 shows on Netflix that aren't Stranger Things that'll keep you occupied long after you're back at school and "studying" away:

1. The Keepers

If you're looking for something a little macabre, look no further. A seven-part docuseries, The Keepers examines the long gone cold murder of Sister Catherine Cesnik. Each episode more captivating than the last, you'll be thinking about Sister Catherine well after the last credits roll.

2. The Crown

As Lorde put it, we'll never be royals. That being said you can PRETEND you're a part of the royal family by bingeing The Crown. Following Queen Elizabeth II's reign, this period drama includes everything you could want from romance to political espionage. Slow at first, by the end of episode 2 you'll be glad that it's been renewed for a third season.

3. Big Mouth

From the comedic minds of Nick Kroll and John Mulaney comes the borderline controversial and constantly charming Big Mouth. Puberty is awkward enough as it is but it might've been a little easier had we all had our own "Hormone Monsters". Packed to the brim with comedic talent, you'll be saying "that's so me" as you reminisce about your early teenage years.

4. Riverdale

The Archie comics were as far from sexy as you could get, that is UNTIL Riverdale became a thing. Kicked off with a murder mystery and full of beautiful people doing less than beautiful things, you'll be finished with the first season and onto the second before you know it.

5. Mindhunter

It may be hard to see Jonathan Groff as anything BUT Jesse St. James from Glee, but after one episode of Mindhunter that is the furthest thing from your mind. Serial killers weren't always a thing. Well they were but before they were called serial killers they were just... killing. Enter the beginning of criminal science at the FBI, including nods to some of the most well known serial killers to date.

6. GLOW

Two words will make you want to watch GLOW: Lady wrestling. Based on the real-life Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, the fictionalized version follows Alison Brie as a struggling actress trying to make it in 1980s Hollywood. Full of all the camp and hilariousness you could want, episodes are also undercut with subtle drama including a somewhat lopsided love triangle.

7. Schitt's Creek

The name alone should make you want to watch this show. Straight from Canada's first family of comedy, Schitt's Creek follows a rich family that has lost everything to a town the patriarch bought as a joke. It covers everything from how sexuality is fluid to making friends in a small town. Season 3 just dropped on Netflix so go and enjoy Eugene and Dan Levy at their finest.

8. Chewing Gum

If there's anything we can all relate to, it's the struggle of dating in the modern world. Chewing Gum is a British sitcom set in London that follows the trials and tribulations 24-year old virgin Tracey Gordon. If there's one reason to watch this show, it's to catch the episode where Tracey finds a boyfriend in under 30 seconds (which you may or may not have seen the clip floating around YouTube).

9. American Vandal

After the popularity of Making a Murderer (which is also worth a watch), Netflix went the parody route with American Vandal. A true-crime satire starring YouTuber turned actor Jimmy Tatro that takes a look of the aftermath of a very expensive school prank. As the series goes on, it'll have you asking... who drew the dicks?

These shows were just the beginning. After all, there are also movies (both Netflix Original and not) that you can marathon as you're sitting on the couch. Between Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and HBOGO you are guaranteed to find something to watch. Binge away my friends! An image Gif source
