6 tricks for managing finals stress

Finals are stressful, right? Totally. We've rounded up some awesome tips and tricks from the girls over at Barre3 to give you a helping hand through this tiring time. Niamh and Christine are both students who work for barre3 and 100% get what you're going through. Take it away girls...

Niamh T. - barre3 Front Desk Staff (Livingston, NJ)

1. Sleep!

Your body needs it, craves it, loves, so let your body have it! Cramming for exams and studying late at night will do you no good. Get a good night's sleep, and wake up the next day feeling great! I know it’s easier said than done - but here is where time management is your new best friend!

2. Eat mindfully

I know when I am stressed out I eat sugar like it's water and I can't survive without it. DON'T DO THAT. Sugar just leaves me feeling more drained later on and isn't giving my body any good nutrients that it needs. I love making the barre3 smoothies because they are easy and not too expensive, which is important when you have a college budget! Any healthy food that makes your body feel good is better in the long run!

3. Take your 'me time'

College is crazy, some days I don't know if I'm coming or going! I always take the time to simply decompress after a busy day. I read books, listen to music, and usually do an barre3 online workout. It stops me from feeling overwhelmed and genuinely makes me a happier person!

1. Exercise!

I always make sure to get in a barre3 class when I'm studying and stressed. Maybe one every couple of days or every day if you have the time for a shorter class.

2. Take it day by day

Do one thing, no matter how big or small, towards your end goal - whether it's a project, a paper or study sessions. It’s also important to be content with the 15 minutes or 3 hours you were able to give.

3. Meal prep

Preparing my meals ahead of time sets me up for success! It allows me to make eating healthy a priority and helps to sustain my energy throughout the busy days.
