5 Tips For Surviving Rush

I've grilled Lily, one of our Outreach Managers here at UNiDAYS all about her time at college and she's given us 5 awesome tips for surviving your college sorority recruitment. As previous President of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority at George Washington University, she's definitely got some authority on this subject, let's see what she's got to say...

1. Sleep, Sleep, Sleep

"Go to sleep early. Even if you you're super excited from the day, just remember, you've been on your feet talking to hundreds of people for hours and hours, and you will be doing the same thing for a few days in a row. You need your beauty rest!

2. Hydrate

Hydrate, eat well, and consume absolutely zero alcohol, plus, if you can squeeze in a workout, power to you!

3. Work Hard

Try and get all of your homework and assignments complete before recruitment starts. If you don't know what is going to be due the week after recruitment, ask your professors in advance. As annoying as it may be to do double the amount of work, you'll be happy you did it once you're in the thick of recruitment!

4. Empty Your Diary

I made the mistake of scheduling job interview related work during the week of recruitment when I was president of my sorority! Don't make that same mistake. Like your homework, try doing everything beforehand or pushing things like job interviews to a future date.

5. Enjoy It

Enjoy yourself! You will never experience anything like this ever again, it truly is a unique experience. Tiring, exhausting but so much fun and a great way to meet people, many of whom will become your sisters and best friends!"
