We all want glowing, radiant skin, right? Sir John, makeup guru to some of today’s beauty icons, (most notable, Beyoncé), is known as the king of glowing skin for his trendsetting fresh-faced, no-makeup approach to making skin look flawless.
In a recent ELLE Magazine interview, the L’Oreal Ambassador shared his top beauty tips for achieving healthy, radiant skin. Our Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask was among his recommendations for prepping the skin for makeup application.
1. Preparation is important
"I can't stress this enough, but keeping your skin hydrated is extremely important. Not only does it help your skin just look and feel better, but your makeup will glide on. So moisturize, moisturize, moisturize."
He recommends the Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask. "It will have your skin prepped and ready to go in no time!"
2. Don’t over apply
"Start light and build the coverage you need. That way you cover those imperfections but the skin still shines through and you've created a totally natural look."
3. Matte looks best
"My one piece of advice for applying product is to stay away from using anything that creates shine on the center of the face—the center of the face should always stay matte."
4. Always remove your makeup
"Always take off makeup at night. It doesn't matter if you're dead tired or drunk, take your makeup off before bed!"
5. It starts on the inside
"I'm really holistic when it comes to skincare - it really starts on the inside. I'm a huge fan of eating healthy to make sure your skin is getting the vitamins and nutrients it needs to look its best. I always tell my clients to drink a carrot juice before a big event because you will see the results literally overnight."
If Sir John’s advise is good enough for Beyoncé, it’s good enough for us!
