10 cookie recipes to get in the Christmas spirit

Nothing says CHRISTMAS like a big ol' batch of cookies. By now, you've probably forgotten what life with the ability to bake is like. Then again, perhaps your cafeteria has a special station where you can gorge on freshly baked cookies until your heart's content. OR you've probably got a stash of cookie dough hidden away in your mini fridge that you bust out whenever the person you like hasn't texted you back, failed a test/quiz/homework, or even just cause. In order to get you back into the swing of things, here are 10 cookie recipes for you to make this Christmas: An image Gif source

1. You're a GREEN one, Mr. Grinch

These crinkly, cakey cookies are the PERFECT way to start your stay at home. If anyone asks why you're being such a Grinch, just shrug and show them this recipe.

2. A holiday classic

Shortbread instantly transports you to Grandma's house... maybe not yours depending upon her level of baking skill but SOMEONE'S Grandma's house. Shortbread has been a traditional staple since Kris Kringle became Santa Claus so.... you can't go wrong.

3. Candy canes + chocolate = HEAVEN

There's just something about mint when it's paired with chocolate. It's absolutely chef's kiss

4. As American as apple pie

If a pie is too much work, why not take it down a notch with this recipe. It's all the warmth and comfort of an apple pie with half the effort.

5. Hot cocoa without the mug

Ooey, gooey marshmallowy goodness awaits you with this cookie. Don't worry about spilling hot chocolate all over you when it's in cookie form.

6. Nog me baby

Eggnog is not everyone's cup of tea. For some the consistency is just... not right. Enter, the butter cookie with Christmas flair. Even the most staunch of eggnog haters can get on board.

7. Slice n bake is here to stay

Nothing is better than the slice n bake cookies that always seem to pop up around holiday time. If you're tired of snowmen and reindeer, why not try making your own? That way you can have them whenever you want.

8. Sugar cookie truffles are a thing?!

Truffles are some of the most delectable goodies one can get (I'm talking about the candy not the mushroom). Why not put together two delicious things to make an UBER delicious thing?

9. Fröhliche Weihnachten!

German chocolate cake is a rich staple for my family, mainly seen during birthdays. That being said, it's even tastier in cookie form.

10. Enough to break the ice

Impress everyone at your holiday party (or family gathering) with these adorable little bears. Simple and satisfying, they're definitely enough to break the thickest of ice.
