The Grammys = girl power

If you live in your own little bubble you might not know that the 2017 Grammys has already been and gone, and this year, it was all about the girls. Yay for girl power! Rihanna gave us all the night out feels whilst Adele and Beyonce declared their love for one another, ultimate BFF goals right there. So here’s why the Grammy’s was all about the girls:

Queen Adele

Despite being put head to head with Beyonce, Adele scooped 5 Grammy awards for album of the year, best pop vocal album, record of the year, song of the year and best pop solo performance. Dedicating her album of the year to Beyonce, Adele said ‘I can’t possibly accept this award’, going on to praise Beyonce for her monumental album, Lemonade. Beyonce, who was brought to tears, returned the love to Adele highlighting that these feelings really were mutual. Isn’t it great to see females supporting each other!

The 2017 Grammy Awards paid tribute to George Michael as Adele performed a stripped back version of his song Fastlove. However, with Adele starting the song for a second time and apologising for her potty-mouth, she proved to us all that even she makes mistakes, and don’t we love her for it.

Night out with Rihanna

Sipping from a diamond flask (goals) it seems that Rihanna had a ball at the Grammys this year, and gave us all the inspo for friday evening lectures before a big night out! Despite not performing, Rihanna seemed to thoroughly enjoy the event and was even spotted on Facetime during the middle of a performance. We can totally relate to Rihanna’s Grammy night out as she was also captured saying ‘it’s time for another shot’. We totally agree and think she’d be the perfect night out companion!

Beyonce

Despite Adele claiming victory in any head-to-head battles, Beyonce didn’t leave empty handed as Lemonade was named best urban contemporary album and her single Formation received best music video. Even when Adele won the biggest award of the night, the attention was turned back to Beyonce when Adele insisted she should have won.

Beyonce took to the stage to deliver a phenomenal performance in a gold goddess-like dress, singing a medley of hits from her critically-acclaimed album. Despite the performance being slightly toned down for Beyonce, it was still a killer performance and has us all hooked.

In summary, we’re totally loving the girl power that was shown at the Grammys! Go on girls!
