Melbourne Cup Carnival To Do List

Melbourne Cup Carnival week has almost arrived, a celebration that stops the nation! Have you made plans yet? If you’re unsure about how to spend your time, here are a few great things to do during the carnival week! (Number 5 is my favourite!)

1. Watch The Race (Obviously)

This is a no-brainer, but why not head on down to watch the race?  If you can’t make it to Flemington on cup day, you can watch the race live on the big screen at Federation Square.  So grab your friends, make a picnic or head to one of the many bars and restaurants in the area and make the most of the day celebrating with those you love! 2. Go Shopping!

There are many other things to do around the race, including one of my favourite pastimes, shopping! Get down to the sales and start to build your summer wardrobe, because once carnival week is over, summer is coming!  Plus there are many awesome discounts available to you online such as 20% off at Showpo using your UNiDAYS® discount.

3. St Kilda

Fancy being at the centre of the celebrations? Get glammed up and throw a beach party at St Kilda, or head to one of the many amazing bars to soak up the sun and eat delicious food. Although be aware it’ll be pretty busy from the 1st November! Article_MelbourneCup_3 Image Source: hiddencitysecrets.com.au

4. Go For A Cup Day Lunch

As a lover of anything food, going out for a Melbourne Cup lunch is pretty high on my to do list this year. There are restaurants and bars all over the city that will be holding special lunches and be filled with screens so you won’t miss a minute of the races.  However, be prepared and book a table if you’ve got your heart set on somewhere special, as I’m sure there will be many people with the same idea. 5. Throw Your Own Party!

Again, another no-brainer to me. Throw a big Spring Carnival bash! Invite all of your friends, their friends, their friend’s friends and fire up the barbecue because this is going to be the party of the season.  If you don’t fancy being held responsible for entertaining guests, there will be hundreds of parties taking place all week long, so you and your friends will certainly not be at a loss.
