Fuel For Thought: Study Snacks

Revision got you feeling snacky? Join the club! However, the best type of snacking you can do right now is snacking for your brain.  So put the chips and chocolate away because we’ve got some top foods that will provide the power to fuel your brain and get you through that dreaded exam period.

Vegetables 

Article_StudySnacks_04 Image source - uitpaulineskeuken.nl Add some delicious veggies to your snacking list.  Carrot sticks are a great choice for relieving stress with their mega crunch and are perfect if you’re a revision grazer.  Broccoli is also a number one contender for brain foods as it has a high source of vitamin K which is great for enhancing cognitive functions like helping you to focus and concentrate, so why not add a hefty portion to your plate at dinner time to really start boosting your brain powers!

Oily Fish

Article_StudySnacks_02 Image source - themediterraneandish.com Most fish contain high concentrations of omega-3 which helps your level of focus whilst studying, also enabling you to study more efficiently which is ideal if your exam timetable is looking a little scary.  Why not add a tuna salad or two to your revision diet to contribute to the enhancing of your study skills.

Dark Chocolate

It’s not exactly my favourite type of chocolate, but if someone says you can eat chocolate whilst revising, I’m certainly not turning down that opportunity! Dark chocolate is very beneficial for your brain for helping your memory, which is the only thing you really need when revising! It’s also great for helping blood flow to the brain, keeping you alert during the study period.

Blueberries

Nuts

They’re pretty much great for everything, they provide oxygen to the brain which increases your alertness, they’re high in unsaturated fat so great for providing energy and their have high levels of fatty acids which help improve your brain’s overall performance.
