5 of our fave Sydney coffee shops to beat the cold

It's time to write a blog piece that is very dear to my heart. If you have seen Gilmore Girls you know the importance of coffee to do the walking and the talking. Or, Friends where regardless of the time of day (and the fact that you have a full-time job) there is always time to be spent at a coffee shop.

I am about to up your coffee game. First off… Sydney. Our Australian HQ is based here! I have been hunting down some top notch caffeine establishments that are worth stopping by. Don’t worry, I have a keen eye for a tasty brunch menu and gram-worthy location. Plus who needs to pay rent when you can buy avo on toast right? (Kidding… but let’s not allow a housing crisis to bring us down).

1. Celsius Coffee Co

First off the block is Celsius Coffee Co, a hidden gem right at the tip of the Lower North Shore. Hop on the ferry from Circular Quay straight to the cafe door. Located right on the Kirribilli Wharf with harbour views second to none. It is worthy of Instagram from any angle and your stomach is going to love you for it.

Recommended eats

Billy’s Eggs and the coffee is all round fantastic. Oh and go on… we dare you to try and not follow their Instagram.

2. Sappho’s Cafe

Next in our whirlwind tour is Sappho’s cafe and wine bar on Glebe Point Road. Both a haven of books and delicious food! This cafe is the perfect place to spend a morning falling back in love with the smell of literature intertwined with coffee. We know you could just go to the library but when the back courtyard looks this awesome you will have to visit even in winter. Plus did I mention there is a whole vegan menu aaaand it turns into a bar in the evenings? Yes!

3. The Vogue Cafe

Next up, a little further out but nice and close for you Macquarie students - The Vogue Cafe. I mean I know this is largely about coffee but when you have milkshakes that look like theirs, it's a no brainer. Their entire menu will have you drooling and their baked goods are literally out of control… cronuts anyone?

4. Gumption

In the depths of The Strand Arcade you will find Gumption a spin-off of the infamous Coffee Alchemy, serving up caffeine in all its delicious glory. Keeping it pure and simple the team at Gumption do coffee and they do it right. Knowing the ins and outs of a quality brew and perfect bean this is worth a stop off when out and about in the CBD.

5. Fika Swedish Kitchen

Finally, on our whirlwind coffee tour, we land in Manly. During a day out nothing beats stopping in for a little bit of Swedish inspired Fika at… Fika. For Campos coffee fans, this backstreet haven will have you wanting to try one of everything on the menu and wondering why you aren’t consuming more cinnamon buns. This is the perfect spot to test out some amazing new food. And, if you strike it on a sunny day nothing is better than soaking up a few rays at their outdoor tables.
