Everyone's been on the cloud egg train recently! But what are those fluffy versions of our favourite breakfast food? With a prep time of 5 minutes and a cooking time of only 10 minutes, this Insta-worthy breakfast is seriously speedy and amazingly tasty. So, what's actually in them?
Cloud eggs look like fluffy little clouds because of the addition of a tiny bit of baking powder or whipping your eggs into a frenzy like you're making a meringue. Want to know how to make them? Follow these steps!
Separate your eggs, remove the yolks from the whites. Whip up the whites with an electric whisk until they're fluffy and then go stiff.
Add any flavourings in at this point, for example, chives and parmesan are a great cheesy treat or even try adding bacon and chilli flakes!
Pop this mixture onto a baking tray and cook in a pre-heated oven at around 180C for 6-8 minutes or until lightly golden. Now, you can add your saved yolks on top and bake them again for around 3 minutes. They'll be cooked but still dippy and runny by this point. Leave them in a little longer if you like a firmer yolk.
Forget poached eggs and avocado - this is the freshest brunch trend in town right now. Serve with sausages, bacon, toast soldiers to dip into your yoke or even pop some avo on the side if you're feelin' Instagrammy.
