6 Nottingham restaurants killing the pizza game

Seriously, Nottingham is the place to be for pizza lovers right now. We’ve always been good at supporting new and emerging restaurateurs but it seems that we especially love a slice of the good stuff. I’m definitely not complaining, if I had to pick one food to eat for the rest of my days, it’d probably be a pizza and with that in mind I’ve lined up 6 Nottingham restaurants that I can’t get enough of right now. (October is Pizza Month btw!)

1. Oscar & Rosies

Having recently moved into a new, larger space in the city centre and their second restaurant in Leicester, Oscar & Rosies are definitely upping their game. One thing I love about their pizza is that they serve it by the metre. I mean, sometimes a large round pizza just isn’t enough is it?

2. Suede Bar

Suede Bar is a seriously good hidden gem in Nottingham. Located in Hockley on Heathecoat Street, it’s not somewhere you’d just walk past but it’s worth hunting down. Wednesday’s = 2 for 1 Pizza and happy hour offers on beers two. The interior is a mixture of retro movie and video game mayhem and serious industrial, warehouse vibes.

3. Louis Louis - Das Kino

Louis Louis takes up residency at super cool bar Das Kino located in the Lace Market. Das Kino was home to Oscar & Rosies so it’s a place that definitely knows good pizza. The pick of the menu for me has to be the Hacksaw Jim Duggan pizza (any wrestling fan would agree) which includes roast chicken, smoked bacon, red onion and bbq sauce!

4. Corner Stone Pizza

Corner Stone is my only out of town pick. Situated in a converted shipping container in Sherwood on the outskirts of the city centre, Corner Stone is definitely worth seeking out. This is real home made pizza, full of flavour and individuality in each and every base! Vegan or gluten free? Don’t worry Corner Stone have you covered!

5. Inferno Pizza

Inferno is pizza done a little differently. Running short on time but still need that cheesy, bread based hole filling? Inferno pizzas cook in just 180 seconds to bring you a delicious crust, right on time. You can choose from a solid lineup of pre-made choices or go all out and pick your own.

6. Happy Dough Lucky

So as of the the time I’m writing this I’ve yet to taste a Happy Dough Lucky Pizza. I’m actually yet to even see their restaurant. However, these guys are down as being the next big thing and their pop up is due to be in a secret Nottingham location pretty soon. I’m always trying to stay one slice ahead and so I wanted to give these guys a mention so you can be too!

That’s it dudes, 6 places you should definitely be checking out if you’re looking for a pizza fix.
