Why animal print is the trend of the season

Unless you’ve been living under a (very unstylish rock without WiFi) you would have noticed how huge animal print has been over the past couple of months. It hit us at the end of the summer and doesn’t look like it’s going to budge for the A/W season. Animal print is perfect for this time of year because naturally the colours are very earth toned and neutral whilst still packing some style punch so they’re perfect for updating your Insta worthy wardrobe. Wanna know how to rock it going into autumn? I got you. Here are three bloggers and Insta-babes that have been loving this trend recently and are giving me all the inspo right now.

The statement dress

When Holly Willoughby released a leopard print shirt dress into the fash-o-sphere a few weeks ago it sold out in a matter of minutes because it’s the easiest way to wear this look. Simply go all in with a totally trend led piece and own it. Laura Byrne also looks amazing in this Topshop zebra print pinafore that is an amazing caramel colour and is perfect for layering over tees and roll necks as the weather gets colder. The midi length is perfect for this trend too because it stops animal print from looking too Kat Slater.

The midi skirt

Laura is the queen of the trend and she is rocking this midi skirt in leopard too, also from Topshop. Her colour palette suits this trend perfectly and she always rocks it with the coolest accessories. Play down leopard print with a long sleeved shirt and smart bag for day time and add a cute cami and heels for an instant evening look.

Here she is again toughening up a beautifully pretty skirt with some chunky boots and a band tee. Personally, a favourite look of mine. What do you think?

The snake

Leopard print might seem a bit meh if you’re all over this trend already and snake print is huge! Faye Ellaby, sister of style icon Megan and all round style queen (she also works for the fash Gods that are Missguided FYI!) is all over animal print in a big way and she wears it in her own retro rockstar way that I love. Here she is in a babin’ snakey shirt from New Look(you can obviously grab your UNiDAYS discount from New Look, so don’t forget to grab a code before heading over to the site to shop.

Zebra and brights

Here she is again in the brand new label, exclusive to ASOS in an amazing bright green zebra print top. Ok, this one totally goes against the whole ‘animal print is a neutral thing’ but if you like something a little more stand out and different - this is the top for you. Let it do all the talking and style it simply just like our Fellaby with straight leg denim and perfect black ankle boots.

The Anna edit

This gal’s style deserves it’s own section because I literally love everything she wears. She’s classic, chic and timeless with a generous dose of animal print. She is a self confessed leopard print addict and I am all about that kind of person.

She’s been wearing some incredible Topshop pieces at the moment such as the snake cowboy boots and leopard print denim jacket. These are perfect pieces to introduce yourself into the animal print trend. Pick something that you’d wear anyway, like a denim jacket or an ankle boot and up the ante with this season’s loudest print. You might surprise yourself how much you love the wild side!
