Summer is in full swing folks, meaning? IT’S ROOFTOP SEASON. Across the country, we are flocking to terraces and urban gardens to soak up the sunlight and indulge in a little sky-high fun. From luscious green hideaways with gorgeous views in London to top-floor canteens in Leeds, these recommended rooftops (courtesy of our pals at DesignMyNight) are serving up both the style and sunshine department.

Lost in Brixton - London

Lost in Brixton is an all-new hidden rooftop giving out the best in tropical vibes. Proudly placed in, you guessed it, Brixton, this urban oasis offers food and drink that's just as luscious as the decor. The cocktails are inspired by flavours of South America, with most drinks under a tenner, and you can also graze on plates from across the globe with their selection of street food vendors - perfect for picky eaters.

NT’s - London

NT’s is the kooky younger sister of the beloved North London club, Night Tales. A sleek cocktail bar and warehouse-style hideaway, the terrace is heated in winter and sun-soaked in the summer, making it a cracking all-rounder. Top that off with a menu of fresh pizza, 2-4-1 cocktails and beer every day alongside a regular roster of hot musical talent and it’s clear to see why this Hackney haunt is one hot ticket.

Flight Club Victoria - London

Flight Club has become a favourite in Victoria for after-work drinking... with a fun activity thrown in for good measure. Come summer, the roof is a bustling social hub with pretty decor, picturesque views, and cool cocktails. As the phone box jukebox cranks out hits ‘till late, this bar likes to impress its guests even more with cheap oche hire on Sundays and until 4pm from Monday to Friday for just £15 a pop.

The Big Chill King’s Cross - London

Tucked away in Kings Cross, The Big Chill is a perfect sanctuary for long days and celebratory drinking. The rose-tinted rooftop offers a whole host of enticing drink options including frozen cocktails, tipsy tea and a selection of spritzers to wet your palate. When the weekend rolls around? Happy hour, street food and idyllic views of the Southbank are the name of the game at Bar Elba. The bold and beautiful rooftop has become a hotspot thanks to its Waterloo location and hella good summer cocktail offerings. Whether you’re in the mood for a glass of frozen rose, a classsic sex on the Elban beach or a platter of skittle-flavoured shooters, Bar Elba’s signature fun-loving atmosphere is the perfect setting.

Eden at Red Door - Liverpool

Have you heard? Liverpool is home to an actual garden of Eden, and it’s found within the walls of Red Door. With its retractable roof, comfy seats and picture-perfect plantlife, it’s instantly one of the area’s most sought after destinations for Instagram snapping. Not just a pretty face, Eden also houses an enormous cocktail menu with different themes for any occasion, priced at a very reasonable average of £7.50.

East 59th - Leeds

This rooftop retreat in Leeds takes its inspiration from the Big Apple, serving American plates against a backdrop of wooden features and slick decor. If you’re seeking a little slice of Manhattan, East 59th is on-hand with an extensive list of whisky-based cocktails, handpicked wines and a whole Tanqueray gin bar to sink in to. With each cool creation priced at around £8, it’s a sure hit.

The Belgrave Music Hall and Canteen - Leeds

The Belgrave Music Hall and Canteen is one of Leeds’s coolest venues, whether you’re stopping by for drinks or staying the night for a gig. Pay them a visit in the daytime and you'll find not one, but two kitchens serving Dough Boys pizza and Patty Smiths burgers, perfect for stuffing your chops while kicking back with a frozen cocktail and soaking up the sun. Why not stick around for an outdoor movie screening afterwards? You know you want to.

Cold Town House - Edinburgh

Edinburgh’s getting a slice of the rooftop action with its unique hideaway boasting views of the castle and surrounding landscape. As well as all that? The bar dishes up freshly-baked Neapolitan pizzas served with a side of live entertainment. Craft beer fans will also get to revel in what Cold Town House has to offer, as the bar has its own brewery on site and serves its creations for just £4.60 a pint.
