5 things to watch that have nothing to do with love

It’s that time of year again, wherever you turn, it all seems to be about love. Even if you’ve got a special someone in your life, sometimes it can all get a little too much.

Rather than sitting at home and watching The Notebook - or heading to the cinema to see the latest Fifty Shades film - I’ve picked out 5 shows you can watch right now that have absolutely nothing to do with love.

Grab your laptop, grab some snacks and get ready to work your way through some seriously loveless television:

1. Sons of Anarchy

Swap the romance for the bromance and get ready to spend 7 seasons with everybody’s favourite biker gang. There might be the occasional fling here and there but true love is harder to pin down than Charlie Hunnam’s accent.

2. Black Mirror

Now in its fourth season, there’s nothing that will leave you feeling emptier than a few episodes of Black Mirror. My tip is to check out the ‘Arkangle’ episode if you really want to see a relationship between mother and daughter go down the pan. As usual Black Mirror takes everything we see as good and progressive with the world and shows us just how bad it could all go.

3. Friends

If watching the most on and off, dysfunctional relationship in television history is your thing then you can’t go wrong with Friends. It seems that just about everybody lost it when Friends landed on Netflix. With 236 episodes in total, there’s plenty of it to get you through the month of love.

4. Black Lightning

Black Lightning is the latest DC series to hit Netflix. The series is based on a character that put his super powers to bed 9 years ago but is forced back into action when the local gang increase their crimes. If you like seriously cool action scenes and a kickass soundtrack to match then Black Lightning is the superhero series for you!

5. Peaky Blinders

There’s definitely no love lost between the Shelby family and the Peaky Blinders series is full of ups and downs for brummie relatives. With a family this dysfunctional you sure wouldn’t need enemies but luckily for us, there’s a few of those thrown in too.
