5 festival-ready hair looks to try this summer

With Glastonbury off the cards this year there’s still a tonne of amazing events happening this summer. From London favourite Lovebox kicking off mid-July with Skepta and Childish Gambino to Dorset-based Indie fave Bestival at the beginning of August, the UK is awash with festivals for the summer months and we love it!

The mother of all style-based festivals happened last month and the trends have well and truly been set for the rest of the year when it comes to lookin’ fresh under the sun at your fave music events. Coachella is the one for me when it comes to new trends, iconic styles and inspiration for festivals. Yep, it’s a long way for us from Reading and Leeds but, a gal can make an effort, can’t she?

1. Out in space

Last year it was all about glitter partings and high space buns with those sassy 90s vibes but this gorgeous chick shows us how it’s done in 2018. This is a slightly more chic take on the cute ‘do and I’m all about this version. If you, like me, think you’re either too old or not cool enough for the high space buns then these little cuties could be a winner. Especially for the second (or even third) day hair! Ruffle dry shampoo through the roots and smooth your locks down into two bunches. Plait them for extra drama or simply wrap the hair around itself until a cute lil’ bun forms. Secure with your tightest elastics and dance the night away.

2. Cruella meets Harley Quinn

I mean these two babes are kinda evil but their hair is always on point, right? Yep. You knew brightly coloured hair would feature in this festival-ready lineup, didn’t ya? Take note on this ridiculously cool hairstyle of half and half. Can’t decide whether to dye your hair pink or blue? Go for both! Seriously wishing this was my hair rn.

3. Full on mermaid

Feel like something a bit more mixed up than the half and half? The mermaid is for you! Influencer babe and science grad Hannah Stocking is absolutely rocking this look. If you can afford to go wild and dye your locks for the summer, go the hell for it! But, f you need a quick fix of colour, go temporary with some amazing products on the market at the moment. We love the Joico Insta Tint from Beauty Bay in pink, purple and blue!

4. Pimped out plaits

If you thought that plaits and braids were over, think again. This colourful revamp is amazing and it’s perfect for so many different hair types and colours. If you have dark hair a bright yellow would look killer. If you’re a blonde babe then weaving gold thread through your braids will give you a heavenly glow and, if you’re a stunning redhead then green and blue will seriously pop. Simply tie string, thread or ribbon to the top of a plait and weave it in and around your hair to create this striking effect.

5. Glitter with the works

Forget pizza with the works, Coachella was all about how to add extra sass to already magical glitter. 2017 was the year for glitter and 2018 was the year to take it even higher! Celebrity hairstylist Justine Marjan (she does Kim K’s iconic tresses!) created this amazing coloured braided style fit with hair rings and glitter roots. Love the hair ring look? Grab yours with 15% from Regal Rose! They have an awesome selection from beaded silver to sleek gold and some embellished with coins and feathers. Enjoy!
