4 fave fitness apps to keep you moving

How many times have you peeked out from under the covers in the early hours of the morning and struggled to find the motivation to leave the warmth and get your body moving? Look, we feel ya. Sometimes it is hard to find that extra spark of energy to get you going so we thought it was about time we did our bit. Today we’re letting you in on our favourite apps to keep pushing you that little bit further!

1. Get running

First of all, if you are all about getting a few kilometres under your belt we know keeping track is just as important as finding the perfect pair of runners. Under Armour’s Mapmyrun is a good bet if you want to make sure you are progressing your pace and we love that you can share your activity with friends. With audio cues to notify you of your split times and the ability to alter these depending on your preferences, you will have no trouble staying on track. Plus the easy to use navigation and ability to sync other to devices online are both big wins.

2. Get sweating

If you are the kind of person who wants a bit more guidance and are after an at home targeted workout Kayla Itsines’ Sweat app is for you. We know how hard it can be to stay focussed at the gym while combining the right exercises for results… and that is where the Sweat app comes in. Each workout is made super easy and is only going to take around 30 minutes... plus there is a nutrition guide and tips on correct form!

3. Get moving

A big favourite in the Sydney UNiDAYS office is the MINDBODY app. This is a winner if you are wanting to find the best classes near you at any given time. Feel like a bit of Crossfit? Or perhaps a yoga class? What about a dance class or even some meditation? You name it, you can book it through MINDBODY. For those of you who are constantly trying to fit your exercise into a busy life, this app is should be your go to!

4. Get thinking

And let’s not forget that even though we need to get our bodies moving, regularly looking after your mental health is just as important. The Headspace: Guided Meditation & Mindfulness app lets you dip your toes into meditation and it is a great place to start if you have never given it a go. We know what it is like to just need a moment, allowing yourself a little ‘headspace’ and we definitely recommend hitting download on this one to just hit pause and be guided through a few moments of mindfulness when you really need it.
