Halloween costumes you'll actually wear again

Help me, I'm poor

Ok. You’ve made it past the pre-Halloween weekend, and now we’re in the home stretch. I’m sure you’ve already spent an absurd amount of money on costumes you’ll never use again, but you’ll probably still wear at least one or two costumes before the week is over. I’m here to give you ideas for GOOD costume ideas you can make with clothes you either already own, or will wear again (making them worth the investment!). Everything on this list can be found at American Apparel with a discount. So, if you were looking for an excuse for a shopping spree today, I’m here for you!

Lara Jean Covey

An image Dressing as Lara Jean would basically just be an excuse to shop for cute clothes. She always looks good, even in the scene where she’s wearing sweats and cleaning her room! Just grab a bomber jacket (preferably pink!), a cute mini-skirt, a cropped turtleneck, and you’re good to go! Bonus points if you add knee-high socks and some cute combat platform boots!

Ariana Grande

An image You literally just need to wear an oversized sweatshirt (I looove this one) and some knee-high boots. Throw up that high pony, do a nice winged eyeliner, and you’ll be good to go!

Holly Golightly

An image A Halloween classic. Everyone needs a good LBD (little black dress) in their closet, so this is the perfect excuse to get one. I love this off-the-shoulder one because you can wear it to sooo many things after Halloween. Add some pearls and sunglasses and then head off to Tiffany’s for some breakfast.

Eleven

An image You probably already have most of this outfit, but if you don’t, time to get shopping! Throw a nice pink dress, and top it off with a cozy navy track jacket. Then all you have to do is add some tube socks and converse! Wig and waffles optional.

Rosie the Riveter

An image We all need a good fall jumpsuit, right?? This one totally says “We Can Do This.” If you’re not really feeling the coveralls look, you can go for a more modern twist by tying a chambray shirt in front and wearing it with some high-waisted jeans. All you have to worry about is finding something red to go in your hair!

A gym class hero

An image This is an excuse to buy some loungewear! Grab a cute classic tee, pair it with some [running shorts], some tube socks, and obviously your fav sneakers. For bonus points, add a headband and/or wrist band. On your mark, get set, PARTY!

A dancer

An image This one’s really easy to put together. Throw a bodysuit over some leggings, and then pair it with some leg warmers if you want to go the full mile. If you get cold, add a cropped sweatshirt on top!
