The NTAs 2017: best and worst dressed

Whether you were sat watching in your comfies with a takeaway or with a beer in hand getting ready for your society or sports night out… the National Television Awards always makes for easy viewing, and this year it didn’t disappoint!

In summary: The nation's sweetheart Mary Berry collected her award for Best TV Judge, Ant and Dec picked up their 16th NTA, Stacey Solomon and Sam Quek donned the same red dress and Tom Jones blinded us all in his bright teal suit. And of course, not forgetting the awards were hosted by the one and only Dermot O’Leary, possibly the nicest guy in the world, right?

Now, let’s talk about the variety of dresses celebs wore to the glamorous event held at North Greenwich’s 02 Arena…

Simply sophisticated

Forever looking absolutely flawless, we can always rely on Michelle Keegan to look beautiful and elegant. Making us fall in love with peplum all over again, the simple white strapless dress had fashion experts raving. Faye Brookes (winner of Best Newcomer, Coronation Street) also kept things simple by wearing an eye catching black and gold printed two piece. Styled with natural makeup and a casual ponytail this look was a winning combination. Despite Faye’s boyfriend Gareth Gates overdoing it on the fake tan Faye sports a more natural glow which complemented her outfit. I think she ought to give him some lessons!

Pretty in pink

Holly Willoughby channeled Hollywood glamour with a baby pink maxi dress and soft wavy hair, complimented by an embellished brooch. Despite the low plunge neck Holly looked sexy and sophisticated in the long-sleeved gown. Appearing on This Morning a little worse for wear after celebrating a consecutive NTA win, it was an achievement that she wasn’t still wearing her red carpet dress as she did for the same occasion last year.

The de-crowned Love Island star Zara Holland also wore a candy-floss shade of pink; squeezing her assets into a floor-length lace number she took centre stage whilst posing for photographs on the red carpet.

Gogglebox favourite and I’m A Celebrity jungle queen, Scarlett Moffatt, flaunted her slim frame in a neon pink ensemble whilst presenting backstage sharing jokes with the likes of Caroline Flack and fellow Geordies, Ant and Dec.

Rather revealing

You can always count on the cast of reality TV programmes to lower the tone and bare all; queue Olivia Buckland (Love Island) and Marnie Simpson (Geordie Shore). Both sporting black lace and barely-there dresses, there’s no wonder they caught the eye of the media. Marnie in particular left very little to the imagination with a floor-length lace dress, whether this was a wardrobe malfunction or something a little more intentional it definitely made our jaws drop.

From almost see through dresses to keeping it classy, there was no doubt a variety of gowns at this years NTA’s and we always love to check out what everyone was wearing! Who do you think was best dressed this year?
