8 fantastic things to do across the UK this July

We’re officially closer to Christmas than we are the start of the year. Freaked out at how fast the time is going? Us too. That’s why we got in touch with DesignMyNight. They’ve rounded up eight unmissable things to do this July, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on making the most of your summer holidays. Get ready to party at a cocktail festival, drink bottomless booze at a Disney screening and ditch reality to become an undercover spy.

Cocktails in the City - London

Have a list of bars that’s the length of your arm, but lack the funds (and the time) to visit them all? The solution you’ve been waiting for is here, and it’s called Cocktails in the City. This mini festival is taking over Bedford Square Gardens this July and it’s promising lots of discounted, signature cocktails from 25 of London’s best bars. From Cahoots to The Alchemist, you’re in for a right time.

Espresso Martini Society - London

You had a cappuccino every single morning before your lectures, and now you’re struggling with the instant stuff at home? The Espresso Martini Society is back in London this July and it’s bringing the world’s biggest Espresso Martini menu with it. Get a cheeky caffeine fix - with a little booze on the side, as you try everything from salted caramel frappes to an indulgent strawberry cheesecake variation. At £10 a ticket with your first drink on the house, this one’s a must visit.

Pop-Up Screens - London

If we were to list you all the reasons we love summer, we’d be here all day, but one bullet point we will tell you of, is pop-up cinemas. Pop-Up Screens is back for the sunny season and although they have a credible list of films, we can’t help but give a shout out to their screening of 10 Things I Hate About You. The movie is 10 years old this year and if you love the outdoors just as much as Heath Ledger on the big screen, you should grab a ticket asap.

Pizza Pilgrims - London

We don’t care what anyone says, pizza makes the world go round. If you happen to agree, you’re gonna want to make a booking for Pizza Pilgrims. This kooky pizzeria has a lot going for it, from the funky foosball tables and interiors right down to the star-studded menu. Everything is reasonably priced (you can get a pizza for as little as £6), but if you rock down between 4pm and 7pm from Monday to Friday, you’ll benefit from £4 Aperol Spritz and one litre of prosecco for £20.

Silent Sounds - London

Create a Whatsapp group, invite your closest mates, and title it ‘Silent Sounds’. This epic boat party will take you down the Thames on a four-hour journey, blasting three different DJ sets to your colour coordinated headphones. Constantly dubbed as one of the best experiences in London, it’s sure to be the highlight of your summer. You’ll have two bars to keep you hydrated too, and the chance to sail through Tower Bridge as it opens up for you.

Spy City - London

Taking a history and politics degree, but convinced you’d be a great spy? It’s time to put your skills to the test with London’s newest immersive experience. Spy City requires you to go undercover around London Bridge in the hope that you can break into a safe house to free your fellow agents. Got what it takes? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Have a ball at Musical Bingo - Brighton

Musical Bingo isn’t your regular kind of bingo gig, hell no. Using songs instead of numbers, you’ll have to dab your way to a full house, but make sure you keep one eye on your paper and the other out for their mystery boxes. With themed rounds ranging from different genres to particular decades, music lovers with any and all tastes are in with the chance of taking home the grand prize. Expect everything from mid show cake-eating competitions and surprise acts to distract you.

The Bottomless Singing Cinema - Manchester

Hollywood might be remaking our favourite Disney movies at every chance they get but we’ll always have room in our hearts for the original Lion King. The Bottomless Singing Cinema is bringing the classic film to Manchester this July and doing exactly as it says on the tin, you’ll get free-flowing drinks during the movie alongside bottomless popcorn.
