6 delicious St Patrick's Day treats

St Patrick’s Day is just around the corner! Here's 6 lots of Irish food and drink inspiration because what better way to celebrate the patron saint of Ireland, than with food, drink and friends?! The majority of these recipes are super easy and are all pretty darn tasty. So gather your buddies and impress them (or bake them all for yourself and eat it all like I nearly did!). Lets kick this off with a delicious Guinness cocktail: Black Velvet, if you’re one for Guinness and Champagne then this is for you. On my recent visit to Dublin I couldn’t get enough of this and at the Guinness Factory you can get this yummy cocktail in the bar! If Guinness isn’t your drink...How about a Sparkling Shamrock? This crisp and fresh cocktail is sure to get your taste buds tingling.  Article_StPaddys_2 As much as just drinking cocktails may be fun, I'm all about the main event! These main dishes are both easy to make (especially if you cheat using pre-prepared puff pastry). I also used my slow cooker for both of them, which made the meat completely melt in the mouth. Steak & Guinness Pies are the perfect feel good food. Article_StPaddys_1 If you’ve got a house full of guests though, this St Patrick’s Day, the Beef & Guinness Stew might be a tad easier to feed them all. Both are delicious and I would recommend serving them with Colcannon, a traditional Irish potato dish mixed with cabbage, bacon and double cream.  Article_StPaddys_3 What is more Irish than Irish Cream in the form of Baileys Chocolate Mousse, these are the definition of delicious and it’s pretty easy to make. If you’ve got a few people coming over then double the batch and just wait for the impressed guests to start asking for the recipe. I served them in pretty little cups and saucers and shaved some chocolate on the top! To keep with the Guinness theme, this chocolate and Guinness cake is sure to hit them taste buds. Plus it looks totally amazing. Don’t worry about the Guinness flavour being over powerful, it’s not! It keeps the cake moist and rich.  Now for the funny part… These were super fun to make, however, you know when something goes terribly wrong? That happened with these mini Leprechaun Hats. But, don’t judge! They tasted awesome and if you’re better in the kitchen than me I’m sure they won’t look like a four year old has made them.
