We all know that university life can get a little hectic, especially when exam time comes around. If you’re one of many who finds it difficult to keep track of everything that’s going on, then fear no longer. I've got your back. I’ve compiled a list of the top 5 apps to help you get organised, and best of all, they’re free!
1. Student Agenda
This is a simple app that allows you to divide time between academic and personal life. It's important, of course, to work hard and study, but it’s equally as important to take breaks to rest your brain! Student Agenda can help you organise your work time. You can set subjects to study and it can remember important activities with its handy calendar feature.
Fed up of having to type out line after line of someone’s book after you’ve only used a few words from them for a reference? With RefMe, those days are no more! RefMe compiles a list of your references that you put into it. And, it supports over 7500 different referencing styles. With the smartphone app, you can even scan a book’s barcode to produce a reference from it. The future is now!
3. Life RPG
For the hidden gamer inside us all, Life RPG lets you treat your life as a game. By completing missions you set yourself, you gain experience points and level up in the app. Every time you complete certain actions, your skills related to that action increase! For example, your fitness level going up after you complete a gym workout. This app lets you mix the real and video game worlds together and is a fun way to keep on top of everything you need to do.
Quizlet is a flashcard program that allows you to test yourself on various topics. You can access cards from the millions in the Quizlet database, or create your own if that’s what you need. This app is perfect for helping students organise their revision. Especially those who need to learn dates, definitions, or vocabulary - but it can anyone can use it!
Finally, we have the file-sharing applications. Both Dropbox and OneDrive work well, but my personal preference is DropBox. These apps allow you to place files within a cloud storage system, which you can then access from any other device that has the application. The days where you’d have to send files through an email to yourself are long gone!
This list is by no means comprehensive! But, it should give you a good starting point to organise yourself and making your tasks work around you, not the other way round. Happy organising!
