The dating diary: meet the serial dater

  • Age: 22
  • Occupation: 3rd year uni student
  • Gender: Female

A serial dater looking for love and a decent slice of pizza.

I enjoy socialising, but I'm still focused on doing well. I've been single for 3 years... but I'm not willing to throw away my grades for a hot guy who 'super-liked' me on Tinder. Honest.

Dating history

I had been internet dating quite a while and at first, I thought it was pretty shallow. But, if you think about it, it’s not that much different to being in a bar. You wouldn’t go up to someone in a bar if you didn’t find them attractive. Just the same as you wouldn’t swipe right. If anything you have the chance to find out a little more about the person online first.

What you’ve got to remember is that not all boys are the same. Some, are pure filth: “you look like you’d enjoy anal” or how about... “up for a shag at mine in 1 hour?” I can totally see why dating apps have a name for being sleazy. Gross, guys.

What I'm looking for

I would probably say my ideal guy is tall, dark and handsome. Cliche, I know. But it’s not always like that. I’ve dated guys with a variety of ethnicities, hair colours and heights. One week I dated a 5’5 guy with blonde hair and brown eyes the next I dated a 6’3 guy from Ghana. When it comes down to it, the things I’m most attracted to is a nice smile, confidence and an open-minded outlook.
