Way to go, gal! Holly Willoughby has been given a massive pay rise so that her wages now match those of her fellow colleague, Phillip Schofield. A few weeks back it was revealed that the BBC was not paying female TV presenters and actors as much as men. Well, ITV listened! But hello… it is 2017 after all.
2. Snakes and reputation
It’s finally happening. After two long years, Taylor Swift is finally releasing new music! After the long wait and numerous snake-related teases, it’s been confirmed that her new album, Reputation, will be dropping in November.
3. A legend retires
It’s time for England’s all-time leading goalscorer, Wayne Rooney, to hang up his boots for England. Rooney has turned down the chance to be part of the squad for next month’s World Cup qualifiers, sad times.
4. Baking is back
The wait is almost over! Bake Off is back on Tuesday 29th of August and we are so excited for all the tasty treats to hit our screens. Queue Bake Off screening parties. The contestants have been revealed and include a trainee stuntwoman as well as the oldest contestant, ever. But surprisingly, Channel 4 have stated that they would be happy with 20% less views than when the programme was on the BBC. Really?
5. Drama central
There’s been way too many controversial moments that have happened at the VMAs, one being Britney performing live on stage with a python. Lovely. Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars and The Weeknd are all up for the big award: Video Of The Year. Who do you think will take it home? We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for any drama that unfolds on Sunday night, as the glamorous award show takes places, hosted by Katy Perry.
6. Winter is definitely here
Two words... ICE DRAGON. How did we not see this coming? Monday evening’s episode of Game of Thrones was probably the most intense of this season so far. We witnessed the saddest death of the entire show, apart from Hodor (RIP Viserion), but we also witnessed a partnership of two armies, and finally someone other than everyone in the North believes Jon Snow about the White Walkers. Season finale, the countdown is on!
7. The fight is on
Mystic Mac started his predictions with him knocking out Floyd in 4 rounds, but has since confidently stated it'll be all over in 2 thanks to Floyd's request to use the lighter 8oz gloves. Who is going to be taking home the diamond belt?! We'll soon find out.
