Friendsgiving recipes your friends will love

When it comes to cooking in college, your Friendsgiving feast is bound to be anything but traditional. There’s no shame in trying to channel some time-honored dishes, sometimes they’re just easier. If you’re looking for recipes easy enough to replicate in a dorm, here’s a tasty little list that makes cooking with limited resources as easy as pie. Just make sure you’ve got the basics covered in some capacity (turkey, stuffing/dressing, potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, biscuits/cornbread and greens) and everyone will leave feeling satisfied.

turkey substitutes

Like we said, this isn’t Thanksgiving at Grandma’s, so feel free to get creative! We love these fun adaptations of traditional dishes and are likely going to make this Thanksgiving Log and/or this Turkey & Cranberry BBQ Pizza for our friends this year! Where there’s a will there’s a way to wrap food in bacon, and we like to think a reimagined pizza would have been a hit even at the first Thanksgiving.

thanksgiving cocktials

Nothing gets the party started quite like a festive cocktail or mocktail. My top recommendation is Apple Pie Sangria-- and I can’t stress its deliciousness enough. It transcends both apple pie and sangria and will leave even the manliest of men asking for seconds.

You don’t need booze to have a good time! Cranberry Moscow Mules can just as easily be made sans vodka, and are the refreshing, crisp, palate cleanser you’ll crave between bites. Copper mugs not required (but they sure are pretty)!

We all have that one friend (or maybe you are that friend) who likes to par-tay. Put them in charge of the Apple Cider Jello Shots with Fireball Whiskey. They’re super easy to make and are just what you need to turn your Friendsgiving out. Just make sure the dishes are done (no one likes to do dishes once the jello shots come out).

no bake traditional desserts

Wow your friends by whipping up some no-bake desserts. Everyone’s going to be like, “OMG how did you even have the time?” and you’ll be like, “LOL, I know right?”

In order to please even the most Basic of B’s at your table, make sure there’s adequate pumpkin representation. Our no bake dessert mission has us drooling over these Pumpkin Cheesecake Balls while this Raw Caramel Apple Pie satisfies the traditionalist inside of us all.

chocolate Thanksgiving foods

If there’s one thing that irks us about Thanksgiving, it’s the lack of representation when it comes to our all time fav, chocolate. That’s why for Friendsgiving, we get choco-serious. With finals right around the corner (so, so, sorry to remind you), the Coffee “S’mores” Pie will be sure to keep you awake long enough to finish that paper, and the No Bake Nutella Cheesecake gives you an excuse to buy that absurdly large container of Nutella next time you’re at the store.
