8 Killer College Beauty Tips!

If you haven't found a beauty routine just yet, college is the best place to do so! You probably have more time than you did in high school to explore new products and such. Fortunately, I have lots of tips to share with you that I've learned over the past few years that have helped me.

Protect Your Hair

Use a silk pillowcase to avoid pulling out your hair at night, especially if you have long hair! I also recommend using a the Wet Brush or a Tangle Teezer to brush through your hair when it's wet. Brush from bottom to top in effort to not damage your hair.

Invest In Make-Up Brushes

Especially high-quality ones, even if you have Chanel eyeshadow, it won't go on or look the same with a cheap brush. If you don't want to buy a set, just be sure to get a blending, lid, and tapered eyeliner brush plus the essential eyelash curlers. Make sure you also have separate bronzer and blusher brushes so you don't mix shades. Keep those brows in check with this cute Tweezerman kit.

Remove Your Make-Up

I know, I know. It's hard to do this every night but make it a habit along with brushing your teeth. That way, you're more prone to remember to do it. You certainly don't want to keep your pores clogged while you sleep. Use quick products like face wipes or micellar water and then a quick face wash afterwards and you're all set. Finish with a moisturizer. ‌

Lipstick Tips!

If you're wearing a bold lipstick, outline your lips with a brightening concealer. This works especially well if you don't have lip liner. The concealer makes the color pop in addition to creating a true separation between your lips and skin.

Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate

Especially before you shave your legs. You'll get a much cleaner shave if you get rid of all that dead skin first. Also, try to do a quick body scrub the morning/evening after the day you shaved as this will prevent ingrown hairs.

Dry Shampoo = Your Best Friend

More often than not, I don't feel like showering just for two classes the next day. Dry shampoo helps keep my hair from getting piece-y and greasy while adding some volume too. ‌

Set Your Foundation

Use a translucent powder and your base will last twice as long and you're not as prone to look shiny or sweat it all off! This is a must during the warm and sticky summer months.

Pat Dry Your Hair

Don't rub! When you rub your hair with a towel, it leads to a lot more breakage than you may realize. Instead, try patting it dry. If you can, let it air dry as it's the healthiest for your hair. Should you use a blow-dryer, make sure to use a heat protectant beforehand as well. Do you have any tips you love to utilize? If you do, let me know on social media. You can find me on Twitter and Instagram. I hope some of my tips helped you!
