5 awesome travel ideas to celebrate the end of your exams

You’ve spent so much time in the library recently you’re worried they’re going to start charging you rent, your brain’s more fried than a bucket of KFC, and you’ve been so ratty from the stress that your only remaining friends are caffeine and chocolate. But you made it! Exams are finally over, and now it’s time to celebrate. What better way to mark the end of the year than with a nice travel adventure? Here are 5 awesome travel ideas to celebrate the end of your exams.

1. Epic road trip

If you’ve got your own wheels then a road trip is the perfect way to kick off the summer. And if you haven’t then beg, borrow, or steal (actually probably don’t steal) a car or convince a mate who has one that this will be a great idea. Plot a route, grab some snacks, load up a Spotify road trip playlist and hit the tarmac with a group of your bezzies for an epic journey. Whether it’s a day or a week, nothing screams freedom like cruising the open roads belting out cheesy hits at the top of your lungs.

2. Cheeky long weekend getaway

If you’re a bit strapped for cash or have actual plans for the summer, then a weekend getaway will still allow you to have a break but without the cost of a full-on vacay. Book yourself some cheap flights on a budget carrier, check into a cheap hotel or hostel, and have yourself a cheeky 4-day break in some exciting destination. A long weekend gives you plenty enough time to get some culture in, enjoy a few parties, and soak up a few rays along the way as well.

3. Awesome camping adventure

If you’re a fan of the great outdoors and love nothing more than getting out into the wilderness to explore your scenic surroundings then why not organise a camping trip? It’s a cheap, fun, and totally relaxing way to escape your laptop, ditch the social media for a little while, and just get back to nature. There’s nothing like sleeping under the stars and living the simple life for forgetting the stresses of exam period and you’ll return refreshed and raring to go again.

4. Extended backpacking break

Despite the stress and pressure that most people go through during exam period, one of the real joys of being a student is the long summer holidays that follow directly after it. If you’ve got no plans and nowhere to be then you could spend the summer on an extended backpacking trip. If you’re thinking that this is unrealistic because it will cost the earth, you can make it a reality by working as you go. A few weeks away will help you forget all about studying and is a great way to celebrate the end of your exams.

5. Relaxing spa weekend

For a total destress then nothing beats a relaxing spa weekend away with a few friends. Think massages, hot tubs, wellness sessions, and a couple of days of clean eating. Not only will it help you chill out in style but it will be a memorable way to commemorate the end of your assessments. If you’ve got a hankering for some pampering or a desire for a detox then book yourself into a spa and unwind in style.
