Whether you’ve got post-holiday blues, are eagerly awaiting a trip, or you haven't managed to get away this year... It’s not the worst thing in the world to be stuck in the UK. Why? because August's event lineup is looking pretty epic. Here at DesignMyNight know about the best goings on this month. From an Espresso Martini festival to a Harry Potter-inspired feast with Butterbeer cocktails. Hold on tight, this may be the hottest month of 2017 in more ways than one.

1. Limitless Linner @ Fiz - London

Make the most of your Friday afternoons before term starts and hit Limitless Linner at Fiz. (London’s first ever sparkling wine bar). There will be three time slots to choose from, where you and your pals can enjoy 90 minutes of fizz for just £20 when you order some grub from the menu. This quirky pop-up can be found at the ever-so-Instagrammable Lights Of Soho!

2. Mr Black Espresso Martini Festival- London

Prepare for a heavenly caffeine overload this August, because an ENTIRE festival dedicated to Espresso Martinis is coming to London. Sip your way through £5 variations of the classic via 50 of London’s most-loved bars. Each bar will also be whipping up a special Mr Black coffee liqueur-inspired cocktail, for your drinking pleasure. Festival passes are an absolute steal at £10. Drink responsibly!

3. London Craft Beer Festival - London

Calling all craft beer enthusiasts! London's Craft Beer Festival will return for the 5th time this August, and it’s gonna be bigger and better than ever before. Over 45 world breweries will descend to East London to bring you all types of beer from across the globe. Tickets are from £35, and include unlimited tastings during the festival. Hot Chip will be on the decks and street food from Radio Alice and Berber & Q will help soak up the booze before you head home.

4. Harry Potter-Inspired dinner - London

Still waiting for your letter from Hogwarts? You muggles are in for an absolute treat this August and September because Library are hosting a series of Harry Potter-inspired dinners! Make your way to the Three Broomsticks Inn and get ready for an unforgettable evening of witchcraft and wizardry. Each course will be themed around key moments in the films and there will be plenty of butterbeer and firewhiskey cocktails to keep you fuelled until it’s time for you to apparate home.

5. Secret Theatre: Project Mayhem - London

If you're after something a little bit different this August, Secret Theatre: Project Mayhem is an absolute must. Prepare for an explosive show of immersive storytelling as you embark on a journey that will force you to decide if you're a lover, or a fighter. Expect the unexpected as you are sucked into a tale of violence and psychological warfare. Intrigued? You should be. Nab a ticket for £30, if you dare.

6. Cocktails In The City - Glasgow

Want to hear some awesome news? The UK’s favourite cocktail event will be hitting Glasgow for the first time this August. 16 of the city's best bars will pop up at The Briggait for an evening of cocktail madness. Where you can blend your own spirits or just enjoy the heavenly creations on offer from the Glasgow’s best mixologists. Tickets are £12 and include a cocktail on arrival, and a membership card that will give you access to masterclasses and goings-on throughout the year.

7. Brighton Beach Igloos - Brighton

Igloos in the summertime may sound a tad unusual, but the six that have arrived on Brighton’s beachfront look super dreamy. You’ll be able to soak up views of the pier whilst enjoying performances from live bands. If British summertime isn’t playing ball, these weather-ready igloos have covers and heaters, so you can enjoy this al fresco setting whatever the weather.

8. Brum's Big Fat Burger Festival - Birmingham

Whip out ‘those’ elasticated trousers from the back of your wardrobe; a Big Fat Burger Festival is coming to Birmingham this August - and you need to get involved. Brought to you by street food masterminds Taste & Liquor, you can expect a day of indulgence as Birmingham brings new heights to its burger game. Delicious and towering sliders will be the star of the show, but you can also expect tonnes of sides, themed bars, loads of beer, dessert stands and some meat-free traders too.

9. Hoylake Beer Festival- Liverpool

If you find yourself in Liverpool on the August bank holiday weekend, make sure you head to Hoylake Beer Festival. There will be over 65 real ales on tap for you to hop between, as well as live music and tasty street food vendors, for the ultimate knees-up. Best of all? Entry is completely free.

10. Margaritas - London

We don’t care what you say, nothing beats the tasty and cheesy combo of Margarita cocktails and margherita pizzas. After a raging success at an East London pie shop, party people Margaritas are back, and this time around they're taking over London Fields Brewery. Tickets will only set you back £12 and DJs will be behind the decks to keep the party going after you’ve finished your last slice.
