Looking for an easy bite to eat? Sometimes you just can’t beat a juicy burger - whether you’re after a gorge-worthy mountain of meat or a plant-based patty. But, with all the regular go-to fast-food spots closed - ahem, McDonald's - and what feels like every takeaway offering sub-par burgers, it can be hard to work out where to actually get you paws on the best bite-sized meals. No problem. We’ve been talking to the pros at DesignMyNight for their take on the UK’s best burgers for takeaway and delivery, and they won’t disappoint.
Known for rustling up some of the best burgers in the world, Burger & Beyond is a no-brainer for your patty fix. See what all the fuss is about with a delivery from the Shoreditch kitchen, where award-winning gut-busters include their signature dry-aged beef and drool-worthy bacon butter, a gooey mushroom raclette and - our personal favourite - a Rice Krispie-fried chicken with miso maple butter for the more inquisitive eaters amongst you. And for sides? Cheesy truffle tots are a must - although we’d be surprised if you had any room left.
Welcome in the weekend with a soulful feast from Prairie Fire. Bringing a taste of Kansas to homes across East and West London, the BBQ connoisseurs are renowned for their hearty slow-smoked chows, with their signature 16-hour oak-smoked brisket burger and award-winning BBQ sauce gaining them a well-deserved place in our hearts. They’ve also started offering a family-style, build-your-own food package and beer kits so you can pick and choose your favourites.
When it comes to burgers, Patty & Bun are up there as one of the best in London - and it’s not hard to see why. Popular for their hefty patties and generous serving sizes, the kitchen is a crowd-pleaser. Whether you’re after a taste of smoky beef, a crispy chicken chomp or a Mediterranean lamb mouthful, they’ve got you covered with their takeaway options. But it’s not just for the meat-eaters. Vegans can get their fast food fix with a range of incredible meat alternatives, competing with their counterparts in the flavour stakes.
Take a break from your usual meaty feasts with a plant-based burger from Covent Garden’s all-vegan eatery by CHLOE. Delivered straight to your door, options such as The Guac Burger, complete with a black bean, quinoa and sweet potato patty, corn salsa, guacamole, chipotle aioli and tortilla strips, making a refreshing change. And to finish? Espresso cookies and raspberry tiramisu cupcakes are a match made in heaven for your nightly Netflix binges.
Why hunt for the perfect burger when you can create your own? Renowned for plating up some of Scotland’s finest cuts, Mac & Wild has recently launched their online butchery, meaning you can now get your hands on all the essentials for a DIY burger. Pick between succulent steak and venison mince, delivered from the Highlands to your door, along with some of the more traditional native eats if you fancy - think square sausages and venison haggis - for you to cook whenever you want.
Open since 1991, Chelsea’s Big Easy knows a thing or two about knocking up fun American classics, barbecued meats and seafood. Wrap your gnashers around a classic smokehouse burger - if you can - and you’ll see what we’re talking about: a stomach-testing tower of deep-fried onions, bacon, cheddar and two beef patties. If you’re after something a little different, why not try their surf ’n’ turf beef and crab burger, or perhaps a spicy black bean and avocado bite with chipotle mayo for a lighter meal.
Get your chops on a gourmet bite, courtesy of 12:51. Created by a Michelin-trained chef, this restaurant is upping London’s burger game with culinary fast food delivered to houses within a 3.5 mile radius of their Islington base. On the small but mighty menu is a simple chicken burger - but this dish is anything but ordinary. Crispy confit chicken comes topped with a drool-worthy slathering of scotch bonnet jam, smoked bacon crumb, blue cheese mousse - swoon - and burnt tomato relish for one hell of a meal. Vegetarians are also in luck with a cauliflower and Montgomery cheddar kromeski and satay sauce option up for grabs.
Your one-stop-shop for all things chicken, Absurd Bird has gained a name for dishing up some of the best wings, waffle combos and burgers around. Treat yourself to a midweek lunch deal from the Glasgow eatery, offering a tasty burger and drink for only £7.95, or challenge yourself to their fittingly-named messy fried chicken - a mega mix of fried chicken, mac and cheese, jalapenos and cheese sauce. Although with fruity cocktails and milkshakes on hand to wash it down, we’re sure you can manage.

Switching out the buns for a freshly-made waffle, fillings come in the form of a sausage patty, jack cheese and burger sauce, whilst an accompanying side of fries add the finishing touches. Available everyday from 10am till 2pm, this has all the makings for a leisurely brunch in your PJs.
