This year’s London Fashion Week catwalks were dominated by eye-catching metallic shades. While there was an array of beautiful, exciting trends on offer, I wanted to take a closer look and the most mesmerising trend for this coming season.

If you’re looking to add luminosity to your style in the new season, Osman’s new collection should be noted.

Osman’s catwalk is proof that metallic materials don’t always have to be silver and gold, though there was a particularly stunning gold trench featured toward the end of the catwalk. Osman showcased how metallic, satin finishes can be an ultrachic staple, using toned-down red, sleek black and a show-stopping purple and gold pantsuit to make their case. While it can feel daunting to incorporate this trend into your daily style, the muted, yet sophisticated colours Osman had on the display felt effortlessly wearable.

While Osman opted for more subtle looks, Fyodor Golan’s catwalk was covered in shimmering, luminescent metallics. A light reflecting, pop colour dress opened the show, its full skirt making a bold entrance for the translucent, metallic materials that soon proceeded. Fyodor Golan’s combination of burnt orange, blue and gold could be seen on everything from evening gowns to bomber jackets.

Marta Jakubowski presented two large trends for the upcoming season; co-ordinated pantsuits and muted metallics. The bold teal, pink and purple suits were juxtaposed by sleek polished black gowns and gunmetal skirts, heightening the impact of the metallic sheen on each fabric

Whatever the occasion, metallic, satin finish pieces are a must have and the trend can be incorporated everywhere from sportswear to evening gowns and ~ most importantly ~ suits.
