5 festivals to start looking forward to

It's July and we've pretty much-embraced winter by now. We've tried out every scarf/jacket combo possible and perfected the exact right time to order a morning coffee to keep your hands toasty.

So what next but to start planning ahead? I've rounded up 5 of the festivals we are already counting down to that might be closer than you think! The lead into summer is looking a little too good to be true.

1. Snow Tunes

If you're a lover of winter and good music Snow Tunes is set to make your first weekend in September legendary. Jindabyne is playing host to Gang of Youths, Safia, DZ Deathrays, Drapht plus a whole bunch of other artists. While I could put a good pun in here about warming up a cold winter night I'll refrain and just say that your ears will be thanking you for this early start to the festival season.

2. Listen Out

The moment spring has sprung Listen Out is ready to punch you square in the face. With Future, Mac Miller and Duke Dumont headlining across the country in late September. If you’re in a major city Listen Out will satisfy your weekend music cravings without having to travel far and wide. It's kind of like saving money, right?

3. Spilt Milk

Canberra. 25th of November. Lorde, Tash Sultana and San Cisco… need I say more?

Ok, I'll say one more thing…. there is way more than just music. Delicious eats like Messina and Hoy Pinoy will keep you going while you peruse the eclectic art installations, making you feel just a little more cultured.

4. Vanfest

In Forbes NSW, the quiet champion of Australian festivals is spreading its wings. With an all Australian lineup, 2016 was a killer year and with announcements for 2017 not far off it is set to exceed expectations. The highlight of the festival? Forbes Pony club’s fresh brekkie every morning. What a team. What a bacon and egg roll.

5. Festival of the Sun

Another festival yet to make their 2017 announcement. Known for its laid back vibe and stellar line up we are waiting (im)patiently to see what goods will be dished up for three magical days in Port Macquarie.
