5 spring fashion trends

Believe it or not, it's actually spring right now! So it's time to ditch the chunky knitwear you've been wearing every day and swap it for something a little lighter... but just as stylish. Whether you're all about colours or have a passion for patterns, we've got something just for you:

1. The trench coat

This chic trend has already been spotted on Selena Gomez and is sure to gain momentum this spring. Coming straight from the runway, the trench coat was seen in both the Valentino and Alexander McQueen Spring 2018 shows. The coat can be paired with many different looks to fit your style, creating a versatile and fashionable statement. ASOS have a lovely longline trench coat so you can grab the perfect spring jacket using your UNiDAYS discount.

2. Pastels

Pastel colours are sure to bring a pop of colour to spring 2018. From pinks to baby blues... many fashion retailers have already hopped onto the trend – including Topshop and Miss Selfridge. First spotted on the Celine runway, this trend has made its way to the high streets. Step up your style game with this Miss Selfridge playsuit. This outfit would make a cute daytime look paired with some trainers.

3. Ruffles

From skirts to shirts, ruffles are a fashion staple perfect for different styles. Spring 2018 has brought back the trend with vengeance – making us long for a ruffled blouse in our closet. Spotted on both celebrities and the runway, ruffle styles are making an appearance on more and more of our favourite items. Take your look from day to night time with this ruched front ruffle hem blouse from Boohoo.

4. Fringe

Another trend straight from the runway: fringe. From dresses to shirts, this stylish design seems to be making a comeback. A prominent feature of Milan fashion week, the trend has since been spotted on retailer sites such as Urban Outfitters and Topshop. Add a pop of colour and style to your wardrobe with this orange fringe jumper from Urban Outfitters. Go hard or go home, right?

5. Checks

Gingham and heritage checks were hugely popular in autumn/winter... but it looks like the trend is here to stay. Spotted on stars such as Hailey Baldwin, check styles offer a sophisticated and classy design. Perfect for any occasion, the check pattern can be seen on many different items, so you can make the trend your own. New Look have a range of products featuring this trend. A fave of mine is this cute pinafore dress. It's great for the colder days, paired with tights and a roll neck... or with a tee for those warmer days. The choice is yours!
