Checks are back for Autumn

Like it or not, the cooler weather is on its way which means so are this year’s Autumn fashion trends. Animal print and fringing are a couple of the ones you can expect to see on the high-street but it’s checks that are back in a big way. Here are four items to add to your wardrobe for those of you who are on board.

Mini Skirt

If you’re a fan of Clueless, a checked skirt is an opportunity to channel your inner Cher. Style it with a long sleeve polo like New Look have here and go all-out preppy or pair it with tights and boots if that’s a little too 90s for your liking.

Oversized Shirt

A checked shirt is something that never goes out of style so if you don’t have one already, you should think about getting one. This shirt from Missguided would make an ideal addition to any wardrobe and goes just as well worn open with a white tee as it does smartened up with a blazer and boots.

Blazer

Speaking of blazers, they’re another great way to get on board with the check trend this autumn. They’re perfect for those days that are too warm for a coat but too cool for a t-shirt and are an easy way to smarten up a plain outfit. This number from ASOS is great for nailing the trend.

Co-ord

For those of you who are willing to commit to the trend and want to make a statement, a checked co-ord like this one from Pretty Little Thing is must-have. Jumpsuits and dresses are another option if you want to go bold with this season’s biggest print.
