Walk, walk fashion baby
Last night the entertainment and fashion world collided at what many refer to as the "Oscars of the East Coast." Each and every year, celebs from all over gather to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. The theme of the party reflects the eventual exhibition and this year wasn't any different, highlighting Catholicism aka “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” Below is just a run down of some of the best, worst, and what were they thinking of the evening.
The Good
Nick Jonas stood out from the rest of the men in basic black tuxes and had many ready for confession.
Zendaya paid homage to Joan of Arc and SLAYED.
Chadwick Boseman showed up ready to rule. #WakandaForever
Jared Leto was basically Jesus
Ariana Grande was a literal painting.
SPOTTED, Blake Lively looking lovely as ever.
Migos make a splash.
KHALEESI!!!
The Bad
Liza Koshy showed up looking like she didn't really "get" it.
Daniel Kaluuya also decided to go the route of "there was a theme?"
They tried but were a little too simple to wow.
Yet another boring man. Shawn honey no.
Nick Robinson looks like Shawn in green.
The Met Gala is NOT a place for classic, Justin.
The Ugly
Deepika Padukone, while gorgeous, had a misstep with this one.
Oh Olivia...
NOOOO Ms. Kendall.... guess she was going for "communion wafer."
Michael B. Jordan apparently CAN'T pull everything off.
Amal... what is you doing baby?
Idris, no.
Ruby, while I see what you were going for... it's a no from me dog.
I could've gone on and on about the good ones from last night, seemed no one wanted to cross co-chair Rihanna in her element. And to cleanse your palate from some of the less than stellar offerings, here's Queen RiRi doing what she knows how to do best: slay.
