Just for starters...
On Zizzi's lovely new autumn menu they have the Wild Boar Polpette. These babies are "oven-baked herby wild boar & pork meatballs in a pomodoro sauce with melted smoked mozzarella, grated riserva cheese & chilli threads". Sounds good, right? They were! The perfect amount of sauce, cheese of dreams and meaty texture with just a hint of spice where it's needed. Tasty!
We also had some delicious calamari - crispy squid rings with a garlic & basil aioli dip. The classic, the best! We also love arancini, those crispy little risotto balls and so tasty. Have you guys tried the 'Little Soul' breads? So delicious with garlic dip.
And, you can't go anywhere without having bruschetta, right?
The main event
Pizza is obviously the name of the game when it comes to our love of Zizzi. For those watching the calories, the Skinny Pizzas are great if you want something light but still with that pizza taste. The Primavera is goats’ cheese, roasted aubergine, artichokes, peppers, slow roasted tomatoes, olives & fresh oregano. Fresh and tasty, especially if you're a vegetarian.
One of our favourites was the autumn special - smoky chorizo and wild boar rustica pizza. Featuring a little "smoked Mozzarella, Trealy farm smoked chorizo salami, wild boar meatballs, sunblush tomatoes, grated riserva cheese, purple basil & chilli threads". Yep, the dream. Another new addition to the pizza offering at Zizzi is the Manzo Rustica. This bad boy has "beef & rosemary salami from Trealy Farm, Fior di Latte & smoked mozzarella, fire-roasted peppers, riserva cheese, purple basil & smoked garlic oil."
Chocolate - always
We finished it off with the incredible Chocolate Melt - "hot, gooey chocolate pudding served with vanilla gelato". Is there anything better?
