Last night the MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards took place in Leeds and was hosted by Maya Jama and Marvin Humes with live performances from Cardi B, Krept and Konan, Stefflon Don and Yugen, just to name a few of the highlights!
But it was Stormzy who won big taking home a total of 3 MOBO awards for best grime act, best male act and best album, way to go Stormzy! After breaking into the mainstream music scene with a number one album, Stormzy has grown from strength to strength putting UK grime music on the map. Last night he showed how pleased he was to pick up his best album award: ‘best album… that’s the one I’m proud of the most because I put my life into my album.’
Giggs also picked up an award for best hip-hop act and the legendary Craig David scooped best RnB/soul act. Stefflon Don has also had a pretty good week after being nominated for the BRITs critics choice award and picking up the best female act award last night. Yas gurl!
It sounds like the MOBO Awards were one hell of a night! Who’s your favourite artist on the music scene right now?
