Websites to help you smash that essay

EasyBibb

Referencing sucks, but it’s something you’ve got to do and got to get right.

For any freshmen (or upperclassmen) that have never referenced before, this website is an absolute lifesaver. We can tell you now, there’s no point writing a 10/10 essay if you’re going to screw up the referencing, because you’ll end up getting points off.

SelfControl

If you spend more time procrastinating study than actually studying, then this is the app for you. Downloadable on Mac devices, as well as a Chrome extension, SelfControl allows you to block yourself from any websites and mail servers for a period of time that you choose.

Got an assignment that you need to get done in the next few hours? You’re probably going to want to block Facebook or Reddit or Twitter or Instagram or YouTube or ALL OF THEM.

Unfortunately for now the app is only available on Macs, but there is a similar app available for Androids called Cold Turkey.

Grammarly

Could your grammar skills do with a brush up? If so, Grammarly is the plug-in you need. The program takes the hard work out of proof reading everything you type on your computer - even emails and word documents. You’ll be surprised at how often you make mistakes and don’t even realize it.

Grammarly not only fixes your mistakes, but points out why you may have been incorrect, so you can avoid such errors in the future. Opt in for weekly progress email reports, and you can see how your grammar is improving over time.

The extension is currently available on Chrome, Safari and Firefox browsers.
