6 up-and-coming artists to see at Live at Leeds

If you’re into the up-and-coming music scene, we’ve got a treat for you. Read below to get the lowdown on the 6 hottest artists you should be listening to right now. And what’s even better... you can see them all (plus many others) at Live at Leeds on Saturday 4th May. Result!

1. Bloxx

This female fronted 4 piece band from London brings you a mix of Wolf Alice and Sundara Karma vibes. They’ve recently toured with label buddies The Wombats and Sundara Karma, but say that they’re committed to keeping their own aesthetic and staying true to what they want to do, and they’re ‘not just another Indie band’.

2. Sports Team

This six piece band met whilst studying at Cambridge and have since gone on to lead the up and coming Indie band revival. Lead singer Alex Rice fronts the guitar band with impressive energetic performances, working the crowd. Make sure you take a listen:

3. Dan D’Lion

Back in January Dan dropped his second single ‘Treading Water’ as a follow up to last years debut, self-produced single ‘Give What You Take’. He has an impressive CV with experience writing and producing for the likes of Salen, Punctual, Delilah Montagu, Zil and Feder. Check out ‘Give What You Take’ below.

4. Rachel Chinouriri

Singer-songwriter from Croydon, Rachel Chinouriri, is all about the personal, emotionally charged alt-pop and R&B, with a theme of love and loss running throughout her music. Rachels tracks are personable and relatable with her single ‘So My Darling’ being about a boy she had a crush on for 3 or 4 years. We can’t wait to see what else Rachel has in store for us.

5. Sundara Karma

Possibly the best known out of the featured 6, this four piece known as Sundara Karma are another exciting band creating a fusion of pop/rock/indie sounds, with two UK top 40 albums. Give them a listen:

6. Beabadoobee

Bea Kristi, better known as Beabadoobee for her soft and warm aesthetic is a Gen Z singer-songwriter based in London. Her music influences come from her Phillipino upbringing and she writes music to organise her thoughts, creating personal music accounts of thoughts and feelings. Give her a listen:
