The BRITS 2019: live performances

I am sure one of the things we all look forward to when it comes to The Brit Awards is the live performances. This year The Brits 2019 did not disappoint, with some of the biggest names in music performing for us.

Opening the show, Hugh Jackman gave us The Greatest Showman vibes with an incredible well-choreographed performance full of energy and fun. Hugh was looking fabulous all suited and booted in his shiny silver suit as dancers and fire were surrounding him. Towards the end, our host Jack Whitehall made his appearance as part of the performance and that was when we knew The Brit Awards was going to be a good night.

Not long after winning his award for Best British Male, George Ezra took to the stage and his performance proved to us exactly why he is a deserving winner. Performing ‘Shotgun’ with his charismatic smile and beautiful voice, we all had to sing along, especially with the amazing band playing in the back. What a colourful vibrant set that perfectly matches his personality.

Next was the girl group we all know and love, Little Mix’s pretty n’ pink performance was very aesthetically pleasing. With all the dancers performing in sync it felt like we were watching a Diversity performance. They performed their latest song ‘Women like me’ with the amazing Ms Banks, these strong independent women gave us all the girl power vibes we need.

The beautiful Jorja Smith performed her song ‘Don’t Watch Me Cry’ beautifully whilst wearing the most elegant white dress. The Best Female Artist winner had the crowd silent with their flash lights in the air as they watched her alluring solo performance.

There was so much going on in this performance I don’t know where to start. Four amazing artists in one, how lucky are we? Starting off this incredible for-way performance was Rag ‘n’ Bone Man performing ‘Giant’ with Calvin Harris and from then onwards, the set flowed perfectly from song to song. Sam Smith performing ‘Broken Promises’ which led to Dua Lipa performing ‘One Kiss’. What an amazing performance full of incredible artists.

Sometimes less is more, and Jess Glynn proved this. Whilst performing her powerful song “Thursday” with H.E.R, Jess and lots of other women slowly took off their makeup showing how beautiful they look without it. A unique and powerful performance and one to remember.

After just finishing their UK Tour, The Best British Band winners and Best British Album winners, The 1975 performance was outstanding. Performing their single ‘Sincerity Is Scary’ whilst mimicking the music video these 4 boys and their backing singers/dances really put on a show. Their performance included the famous treadmill, Matty’s well known hat. Matty, George, Adam and Ross aka ‘The Band of the Decade’ have sold more than 4.8 million records and I am sure they will sell millions more.

The most rock star of them all, Pink closed the show not long after receiving her ‘Outstanding contribution award. Well known for her outstanding performances, she did not disappoint. Singing 4 of her well known songs, Fire, Just Give Me A Reason, Try and What About Us, changing performance vibes and outfits for each one. Only then to surprise us with Dan from Bastille coming out to sing with her.

We can’t wait for The Brits 2020.
